Bloodsport 1988 – Jean-Claude Van Damme at his greatest

Bloodsport

Bloodsport is still an incredible movie. IMDB calls it a cult classic… BS! This is a straight up classic, perfect 80’s action movie. Highly recommended!

SPOILER ALERT!  Watch the movie before proceeding.

Life Lessons Learned from Bloodsport

Listen to our episode on Bloodsport

Dusty: I need to learn the splits.

  • What a party trick!  Dusty will have all the ladies now! …and the monies and the respect.

Sky: Cheaters are losers.

  • Chong Li and his trainer are real douchers! Cheating might get you the win, but St. Peter at the Pearly Gates will call you on it.

Jean-Claude’s martial arts skills are on full display in Bloodsport.

Dusty: Keep going until the job’s done.

  • Keep on pounding on the guy until he says “matte” or the ref raises your arm.

Sky: Never turn your back on the enemy.

  • Ray Jackson made a huge mistake thinking that he already won when Chong Li went down.

Ray Jackson was a fun, gruff badass (played by Donald Gibb).

Rotten Tomatoes scores:

  • The Audience: 74%
  • The Critics: 40%

Grades:

  • A+ from Dusty and Sky

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist | Spoiler Review & Lessons Learned 64

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist is one of the best spoofs of all time!  We absolutely love it! The comedy is spot on and the premise of taking an old kung fu movie and creating something new from it is comedy genius!

Lessons Learned from Kung Pow: Enter the Fist

Dusty: Never fight a baby.

  • It is a lose-lose situation.

Lovin’ Steve Odekirk!

Sky: Ask and ye shall receive.

  • Master Tang changed his mind at a second request from the Chosen One imploring him to help.

Master Tang… none more masterful

Dusty: Rodents are disposable.

  • Yep, eating or self-defense, do what you want with dem pests.

Sky: Always pay attention to your surroundings.

  • We love it when Betty and his henchmen are walking through town and some random stupid villages are still walking towards these degenerates that are beating other people. “Hey guys, what’s going on?”

We love Wimp Lo.

Dusty: Fighting to music is the only way to go.

Those small nets gets us all the time, too!

Sky: Stay away from psycho hose beasts like Ling.

  • A lesson we first leaned from Wayne’s World.
